Cadillac BLS (Saab 9-3 Aero) 2.8 V6 Turbo alternator change + auto gearbox faults
Переглядів 7 тис.4 дні тому
Our rare Cadillac BLS 2.8 V6 Turbo (it's based on the Saab 9-3 Aero and shares the Z28NET engine with the Vauxhall Vectra VXR) has developed an auto box fault where it says the Transmission Control Module is missing although the car still drives. It also needs a new alternator so that gets done in this video and we are working out how to get Tech 2 security access via TIS2WEB to attempt to repa...
2.0 swapped Astra CDX estate first drive + Cavalier scrapyard find!
Переглядів 11 тис.11 днів тому
We converted this Astra from a 1.6 auto to 2.0 Ecotec manual. After changing the leaking matrix the new/old one was full of crud so that got flushed out and it we drove it for the first time. A Cavalier in a scrapyard also provided some handy parts.
RARE Cavalier Diplomat gets a 'new' Peco Big Bore 1 & SRi-spec exhaust system
Переглядів 11 тис.6 місяців тому
Our Cavalier Diplomat had to be parked for a while as we waited for a new exhaust system to go with the brand new old stock 90s icon that is the Peco Big Bore backbox. We get the car operational again and now look forward to doing more work on it .

MK3 Astra 2.0 16v wiring & Omega 2.5 V6 coil pack issues FIXED. Great success!
Переглядів 10 тис.6 місяців тому
A multi tasking video where we get lots done from getting the Astra 2.0 Ecotec engine to run properly on the correct management to solving a poor running Omega and sorting the exhaust and fuel tank sender on Le Cav.
Mk3 Astra Premier: parked since 2018, saved from the crusher! Project potential?
Переглядів 14 тис.7 місяців тому
We ended up buying this Astra as it turned up right round the corner and would otherwise have ended up scrapped or banger raced. It would hardly even run at all, so the first job is to get it to run half decent then get it to the garage.
Saab 9-5 Aero comes good! Lots of work done, oil leak solved - harmonic balancer to blame
Переглядів 10 тис.7 місяців тому
After buying our Saab 9-5 from an auction it required a lot of work to put it right but we succeeded. One of the main problems was an oil leak which we finally solved with a new crank seal, oil pump o ring and harmonic balancer. We've also added a full set of Toyo tyres, EBC brakes, an alternator and some O rings. Since sorting the car it's covered 10,000 miles and now sits on 166,000. It's run...

Astra CDX X20XEV 2.0 16v conversion starts and drives! It has some issues though...
Переглядів 10 тис.7 місяців тому
We've taken a tired Astra CDX 1.6 16v auto estate and converted it to a 2.0 16v Ecotec with manual gearbox. In this episode we get a new air cond condenser and a radiator fitted, new front suspension and brakes and get the engine to fire up. But... not on the X20XEV management, we've had to use the loom and ECU from the C18XE we bought for now while we wait for a new cam and crank sensor to arr...

Forgotten Mk3 Astra CDX project returns! 1.6 auto to 2.0 16v Ecotec X20XEV manual conversion
Переглядів 12 тис.9 місяців тому
We get back to work on this tired Astra CDX automatic. Once it was top of the range but its peak days are long behind it. But can we turn it into a hot high spec estate complete with leather, cruise and air con? Let's look back to when we bought it, the donor car and part finding, plus a flashback to last summer when we picked up an Astra Sport for Kenzo Original video of going to get it: ua-ca...
Cadillac BLS Sport Luxury 2.8 V6 turbo: the UK's best bargain of 2023?
Переглядів 8 тис.10 місяців тому
We bought this Cadillac BLS in summer for £2100 with 58000 miles on it. The BLS is so rare many people have never heard of the model at all, never mind the 255bhp Sport Luxury. It's a phenomenal car for the money. We've now racked up over 4000 miles with the turbo V6 and in this video take it on the Cannonbawz Run 9 NC500 first leg from Elgin to Ullapool.
That’s shocking my 2002 mk3 2.5 v6 Mondeo was ulez compliant yet a 1.4 corsas not ☹️
That pressure washer sounds obscene and noisey, I want one.
The LEZ zone, only in 🏴 ❤️❤️❤️
Happy birthday Corsa ❤️
So been 30 years old the emissions have altered, bizarre lol
Dougie you should do that from behind you won't make it that way
Aye well that’s good little 1.4 to scoot around in, although I thought It was 28 but I thought wrong
Great stuff! Looking forward to seeing more videos, especially those featuring Le Cav and the Diplomat. Also looking forward to more T&D podcasts hosted by you, hopefully featuring Madders and Niall :)
The law really is an ass!!
Great stuff Dougie mate, Le Cav looks smart.
I’m not knocking your corsa Dougie but how can a 30 year old car go into a LEZ area 😂
The ULEZ/LEZ isn't retrospectively enforced, upon historic tax-classes.
@@baron5747 I thought historic tax class was 40 years old. He's opened a can of worms here 🤣
I like being a half blooded Scotsman 😊
I’m sure it’s all a scam anyway, but I think the immediate fine makes more sense than come on in and ‘pollute’ but it’s ok if you pay. Still just bully boy tactics to get us all out the old stuff we love.
Then have to spend your time appealing the fine? Daft.
It won't get a fine that's what he's saying it's now compliant due to age
immediate fine. Weird!
Keep videos coming mate love the gsi and Saab stay safe and don’t let them emoji face distract you from not speeding 😂
Nice to see you back mate
Another video, great to see your back to normal Scottie.
Ive got a BLS only because ive had 3 Saabs & fancied a change. I noticed on a thumbnail a maroon Gsi 2000 , i had 1 bought it at 2 years old H290 PWE loved that car only car i was upset at selling .
Bob facing up to Denny 😂
Looks decent enough pressure washer. I was Working on a Saab 95 tid yesterday. 👍👍
I bought new centre caps for my bmw E38 cheap from ebay china they were £2.99 for x4 but they said BNW ,you cant realy tell .
Good to see you back!
Box Spanner is for the Spark Plug, which will be under the grey cover
Pressure washer looks good, just the thing any vauxhall needs after the winter with salt on the roads. Should get into all the crannies underneath!
I’ve done that de-stickering on a few vans in the past! Haha, plenty of tar and glue needed to remove the residue if you don’t get it hot enough!
So u didnt wont 2 get yorself a Pink 1 then old Cadillac , Oh i now it woz a Pink Cadillac ,,,,,,,,ua-cam.com/video/Egmekfr53nk/v-deo.html&pp=ygUacGluayBjYWRpbGxhYyBuYXRhbGllIGNvbGU%3D
Loving all these videos. That pressure washer might be a wee bit powerful for car washing - I’d stand well back when using it and only run the white nozzle
I seen a champagne metallic Cadillac BLS driving down the road today!!
Make sure to only use that red nozzle for driveways as it will destroy old paint.Looks a good machine though and petrol is much easier than running power out in some houses
Never put stickers on the car I bought metallic strips I use for taxi stickers
Those rims are decent on the Cadillac. Pressure washer looks good for the money.
Yas keep the videos coming lad
Your Cadillac got Newcastle plate that’s where it was registered
That engine won't like them spark plugs, need to use the proper NGK Iridiums
Yeaah boooi, thanks for another upload!
Hi buddy great video but is there a chance you can get a microphone as its hard to hear you cheers
Just sooooo brilliant to have you back doing videos Dougie ❤❤🙏🏻🙏🏻
Box Sanner with be a spark plug spanner Dougie for when the chinesium spark plug borks itself
Do some research into shops that refurbish wheels. They can often fix out-off-roundness and repair scratches and dings, even cracks.
I’ve heard about heat and popping out dents but never seen it in action. That was good to see!
The spark plug..?
Hello Dougie Another great video has always Dougie 👍
How many WPG does the the petrol washer do.......
The tool is for the spark plug
4:08 Spark plug tool, probably be sat under the grey cover.
LOL, how to tell your neighbours you really hate them, Buy a petrol pressure washer.......
Dougie - the oil level is checked by inserting the dip stick but not screwing it in. You may have under filled it. Nice bit of kit by the way.
I never knew that, cheers mate 👍
